Jongin Kim

I am a fourth-year PhD student in Computer Science at Boston University, where I am advised by Prof. Derry Wijaya.

My research interest spans several areas including mechanistic interpretability of LLMs, multilingual NLP, and misiformation detectinon using LLMs.

Recently, I have become particulary more interested in mechanistic interpretability of LLMs - the effort to uncover how models internally represent and process information. My goal is to develop deeper insights into the internal mechanisms of AI systems. By improving our understanding of how these models work, I hope to contribute to building AI systems that are not only more capable, but also more reliable, transparent, and trustworthy.
